HERO SCHOOL HELPS UNEMPLOYED NEVADANS GET BACK TO WORK WITH FIRST  EMPLOYMENT SUIT DRIVE & EVENT NOVEMBER 4TH, 2011


The Leave Your Suit at the Door event showcases the Hero School Employment Empowerment solution to Nevada’s 13.4% unemployment.

LAS VEGAS -- On November 4th, 2011 from 6 - 9 PM at the new modern facility of Craig P. Kenny and Associates , 501 S. 8th Street, Downtown Las Vegas, Hero School will host its first Employment Suit Drive & Kickoff Event. Admission is free. Bring only a donation of gently used and cleaned business suits, ties, belts, slacks, dress pants, shoes, heels, clutches, or jewelry for Hero School Employment Clothing Libraries, or any tax-deductible financial donation made at the door.* Women's professional clothing will also help restock the closets of the Southern Nevada branch of Dress for Success.

THIS UNIQUE EVENT will comprise three hourly themes, including hors d’oeuvres, wine and live Jazz entertainment from 6-7 PM; elegant pastries, tea, coffee and live acoustic entertainment from 7-8 PM; and finger food, Chrome Sodas and rock n’ roll entertainment from 8-9 PM. This is a business casual, mixer-style event, perfect for networking with diverse community professionals. Local business sponsors include R&R Partners , U-Swirl , Southern Wine & Spirits, Bonjour Deli and Bakery , The Office Squad and more. There will be a raffle and silent auction.

BACKGROUND: Three years since the economic downturn, Nevada’s unemployment remains the highest in the nation in spite of the best efforts of myriad organizations and heroic individuals. After empowering tens of thousands of homeless adults to become engaged and contributing employees and community members, Hero School ’s cadre of local business and community leader-volunteers along with founder, Tiger Todd, have developed a new employment process proven to quickly empower more than 50% of unemployed Nevadan attendees from myriad social strata to find meaningful employment in a matter of weeks. HS Character Change® Initiatives have benefited organizations including CSN, The Shade Tree, SNRHA, and CCSD.

Hero School Program Leader: $5,000 Changes a neighborhood

This sponsorship level is strictly for program use and will fund an entire neighborhood career academy.


Based on success outcomes using the Hero School Model with Housing and Homeless attendees in a recently concluded program co-sponsored with the SNRHA, we expect not less than 55% of participants to achieve full time employment or educational institution enrollment within 4 weeks. Outcomes: 15-25 employed individuals monthly, per neighborhood per grant. Your $5000 investment returns no less than $249,408.00 in annual earnings, beyond significant increases in lifelong skills, character, confidence, self-esteem and independence to these community members.
